Uniform / Dress Code

Uniform Policy “Please make sure to read our uniform policy carefully, since we will be strictly enforcing the dress code next year. Every school, public or private, has a specific standard of dress developed through parent surveys and recommendations from the staff. Houston Quran Academy has adopted a uniform that provides students with a limited degree of choice.”

Elementary

Boys (Kindergarten – Grade 5)

-Khaki Pants ONLY
-Polo Style shirt (White or Navy Blue)
-Thobe can only be worn on Fridays, and must be long sleeved and solid color.
-Tennis shoes

Girls (Kindergarten – Grade 4)

-Khaki jumper ONLY
-Khaki pants ONLY
-White or navy blue shirt
-Amira style scarf (No wrap hijabs will be allowed)
-A black abaya can be worn on Fridays only
-Tennis shoes

Girls (Grade 5)

-Abaya (East Essence)
-Amira style hijab (No wrap hijabs will be allowed)
-A black abaya can be worn on Fridays only
-Tennis shoes

East Essence Uniform for grades 5th-12th girls:

According to our current HQA uniform policy, girls in 5th grade and up are required to wear abayas to school. Like last year we have made an agreement with East Essence, which is an online clothing store, and will be requiring that all abayas be bought directly from them for the upcoming school year 2016-2017. We have chosen this company due to the quality of their products and inexpensive pricing.

Middle and High School

Boys (Grade 6 – Grade 12)

-Khaki Pants ONLY

Girls (Grade 6 – Grade 12)

-Abaya (East Essence)
-Any color hijab
-A black abaya can be worn on Fridays only

PE

PE uniforms are required for girls in 3rd grade and up. They will remain the same as last year’s so you do not need to purchase a new one if you already have one. Sr. Hind will be contacting you on how to order the uniform in case you do want to order a new one or if you are new to our school.
