Houston Quran Academy Preschool follows the Montessori Method of teaching, which focuses on early child development. It is a modern educational movement that encourages teachers to view children and classroom education differently from the common teacher-student relationship. Instead of focusing on academic education, the Montessori Method focuses on respecting and encouraging each child’s individual differences, providing a nurturing environment to teach social interaction and emotional skills.

1) “What is HQA Pre-School?”

HQA pre-school houses and toddler care in a traditional setting. The Montessori program is not a daycare but a learning environment at the Primary level, ages 3 – 5 yrs.

2) “Do you mean to say my child can go directly from Montessori to 1st grade?”

Yes, the curriculum in Montessori is aligned to what the expectations are at the 1st grade level. HQA offers Montessori KG in addition to HQA’s traditional KG. The lead teachers at HQA pre-school are certified from AMS (American Montessori Society), a prominent institute in Montessori education in the United States.

3) “Why is my child not reading yet?” or “How can I support my child at home?”

The Montessori curriculum is rich and rest assured, your child is learning at school. Each child is unique and learns at his/her own pace. The children in our community encounter a “reading explosion” (Montessori terminology) and enjoy reading books.
